Danilo Di Genova, PhD. Detailed CV.
Biography
I gained my MSc at the University of Roma Tre (Rome, Italy) in 2008 studying the rheological and electrical proprieties of peralkaline magmas.
I received my PhD from the University of Roma Tre in 2012 with a dissertation focused on magma degassing through an experimental investigation of physical and chemical properties of magmas.
I joined the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV, Naples, Italy) in 2013 and, afterwards, I joined as a PostDoc the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich (Germany) until 2016. There, I explored the relationships between the structure of silicate melts and volcanic processes.
I was a Research associate at the School of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol (UK) until 2018 working within the framework of the NERC/NSF large grant “Quantifying disequilibrium processes in basaltic volcanism” (DisEqm).
Research associate at the Institute of Non-Metallic Materials, Clausthal University of Technology (Germany) from 2018 to 2020.
Senior scientist – Akademischer Rat – at Bavarian Research Institute of Experimental Geochemistry and Geophysics (BGI), University of Bayreuth (Germany) until 2021.
From 2022, I am a senior scientist at the National Research Council of Italy (CNR), currently at Institute of Science, Technology and Sustainability for Ceramics (ISSMC).
